WEBCAM HI-FI est le projet que mène Fredread avec passion. Sa musique s'inscrit dans la tradition des sounds systems jamaicains et anglais. Webcam Hi-Fi produit un reggae influencé par le son roots jamaicain des années 70 et le dub parfois plus digital developpé en Angleterre depuis les années 90. Ses mentors sont autant Sly & Robbie, Black Uhuru, Aswad, Mad Professor, Dub Syndicate que Twilight circus ou Nucleus Roots et Dry & Heavy pour ne citer qu'eux.

Depuis 2004, fredread enregistre et mixe quantité de riddims dans son studio perché en haut d'une colline du Lot, dans une maison en bois qu'il a construit de ses mains. Il a produit pour son label Tube Dub Sound Records , des chanteurs vétérans comme: Madu Messenger, Kenny Knots, Earl16, Carlton Livingston, Humble-I, Ranking Joe, Tony Tuff, Jah Marnyah, Nya Azania, Tena Stelin mais aussi des jeunes prometteurs comme Kiko de No More Babylon, Zion Uk, Naima des Dubians, Anthony John, sista Widey ... On peut trouver toutes ces productions sur les 9 vinyls 10" de son label.

Le 10ème est sorti en avril au format 12" avec une tune du chanteur Roberto Sanchez (Lone ark).
Webcam Hi-Fi travaille en étroite collaboration avec le producteur I-Plant et de nombreux artistes du label Control Tower. Une référence du Dub en France. 
Désormais sort l'album "livity is my temple" vocals & dubs feat. Horace Martin, Joseph Cotton, Tony Roots, Parvez, Madu, Benjammin, Roberto Sanchez... Disponible en CD & vinyl

Souvent accompagné du saxophoniste Ras Martin, Webcam Hi-Fi se produit sur scène comme un sound system. A la fois dub operateur et selecteur,
Fredread offre une selection de ses riddims, dubplates, releases et pre-releases, le tout ambiancé par l'énergie positive et les lyrics conscious de Itist, Zion UK ou MC Oliva. Un show efficace, rodé et plein de bonnes vibrations prêtent à soulever les Massives sur n'importe quel dancefloor.

WEBCAM HI-FI is the project that Fredread has been leading with passion since 2004.

Lulled as a teenager by numerous artists, on the one side : “A new chapter of dub” by Aswad, “Brutal dub” by Black Uhuru, on the other, “I against I” by Bad Brains  or The Clash’s “London Calling”… It is therefore without surprise that after twenty years of underground activism, he should be drawn to dub and reggae music.

Very conscious of his need to be  independent and a fervent adept of the “do it yourself” ideology , he created his own music label, Tube Dub Sound Records  and built himself a wooden house on the top of a hill in the south west of France, where he also installed his recording studio.

After coming up with ten maxi vinyls , over 150 dates around Europe with both his sound system and live sessions, Freadread is releasing an album of vocals and dubs:  “Livity is my temple”. It reminds us of producers like Manasseh, Twilight Circus, Roots Garden Records or japanese band Dry and Heavy.

This album is a mix of both roots and modern, powerful sounds, delicate and precise compositions with wrought brass, a groovy battery and singers from different backgrounds : Horace Martin (Ja), Tony Roots (Ja) , Parvez & Madu ( UK / Vibronics crew) , Roberto Sanchez (Spain / Lone Ark ), Vanya (Croatia / RDK) , Dan I (Italy / Imperial Sound Army ), Ras Seven (Germany), Senykan (Côte D’Ivoire), Bethsabée (Fr)…
